Smarthub server IPs and Tizen apps download url
Re: Smarthub server IPs and Tizen apps download url
just for info :
I have disabled in dnsmasq the : lcprd*.samsungcloudsolution.net
and it is much much better,
this was really crazy, when I went to main menu, immediate request to lcprd2.samsungcloudsolution.net, same for the hub etc.. almost during each operation with the TV was a request to this address, and after disabling it everything is still working fine
now I need to get rid this Netflix crap. seems all the time is running in background and doing always some traffic to *.nettflix.com

Re: Smarthub server IPs and Tizen apps download url
From what I tried, you can even disable whole samsungcloudsolution.net domain without any side effect. Netflix blocked as well here...
If you need some inspiration, here are my current dnsmasq rules:
Just temporarily unblocking samsungcloudcdn.com during app installation (only) if needed.
Also intercepting UDP 53 in case these smarty-pants would like to bypass blocking by DNS

Re: Smarthub server IPs and Tizen apps download url
Thank you very much for the list,
intercepting UDP 53 is a very good hint too, I could see rarely from my TV query to google DNS 8.8.8.8:53, strange

Do you know what is multiscreen.samsung.com ?
When my tv is booting, than it is connecting to this server too...

Re: Smarthub server IPs and Tizen apps download url
Yeah I know, it's a NEXT good reason to block ALL communication with *.samsung.com
I do NOT support "latest fw" at ALL. If you have one you should block updates on router and wait for it to STOP being "latest":)

Re: Smarthub server IPs and Tizen apps download url
Nothing to fear there. Try to connect to your TV http 8001 (or https 8002), you'll see some "multiscreen service" related stuff (you may have to put TV in developer mode...)
For reference: https://github.com/MultiScreenSDK
You should install Tizen SDK if not done yet, much to play with

Re: Smarthub server IPs and Tizen apps download url
Thanks,
more the question was why it is connecting there If you know more details what the TV is doing there....
I have the TV in developer mode, also has Tizen studio with own apps in the TV...
but don't understand why the TV is doing this connection.
but I will disable it and let's see if there is some effect or not, unfortunately cannot disable the whole *samsung.com due to the SDK and forum also.

Re: Smarthub server IPs and Tizen apps download url
Possible some app (you) installed is trying to connect to that (deprecated) URL. No such connection here on similar TV.
From several apps in link I given:

replace multiscreen.samsung.com to dgpcnfdr6d6y5.cloudfront.net

Re: Smarthub server IPs and Tizen apps download url
right :
dgpcnfdr6d6y5.cloudfront.net are contacted too,
on my TV during boot the : multiscreen.samsung.com is contacted also.
I am not 100% sure but seems the TV is trying to discover the multiscreen/smartview clouds apps on these servers.
multiscreen is called now smartview
