Extended menu and IR extender.

Hello guys.
Something is not clear to me on this procedure with IR Extender from Samsung.

I have understood I have to launch WAW file FACTORY+3SPEED but this shall be done from TV off or already in service menu after
[MENU] [MUTE] [POWER] ?
Also, after this the TV will be restet to factory ?

Thanks

Update:

I tried with 2 PC on my T-MST12DEUC-1119 but it does not do anything with IR Extender from Samsung.
I also tried on F8000 with IR Extender from Samsung and it did not work at all.

Now I will try with ruTVcommunicator: latest release works on F and it is worth to try I believe but the procedure here is not clear:

I guess it is necessary to:
- enter service menu with
[MENU] [MUTE] [POWER]
- wait ruTVcommunicator to connect with TV
- press factory and 3SPEED buttons in sequence

I get this suggestion from greenhorn :
"Pressing 3SPEED should be really fast, because pressing the FACTORY the TV starts switching colours (blue, read, green, etc.). So, If you miss to press FACTORY, the TV will keep switching colours untill you press FACTORY again. So, guys you have to be fast"

Another suuggestion from sectroyer is to play wav file on one tv to make menu appear on other... but this looks really new and I do not know how.

Just for info I report below the IR code to be sent. With a programmable remote like the Philips Pronto (I should have one somwhere) it is possible to send this codes.
Also with Samsung IR Universal Remote app from the App store as it worked for someone.

FACTORY :

Code: Select all

0000 006D 0000 0022 00AC 00AB 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0016 0015 0041 0015 0041 0015 0689
3SPEED :

So, ruTVcommunicator sends over LAN commands, but it doesn't work on my F. The procedure with the WAVs, also did not work, no reaction at all. First time I managed to send FACTORY from my phone, and did not send the 3SPEED command, the TV got this screens green, red, blue, etc. To get the screen back, had to send the FACTORY again and it turn to normal picture. So, to send FACTORY + 3SPEED need to be fast if you send them separately.
To get out of the extended menu, you have just to turn off the TV.

First I tried FACTORY+3SPEED_inv.wav with my phone - no reaction. Finally with an extra amp between I was successful. The result was an red/green/blue/white screen.

It seems that FACTORY+3SPEED_inv.wav only sends FACTORY to the TV, because "greenhorn" reports that pressing FACTORY again will end the colours.

My idea is, either to make the amp even louder, or sending FACTORY...wav and 3SPEED...wav seperately (playlist). - Maybe someone can check this?

Anyway, turning the TV on by pressing
[MENU] [MUTE] [POWER] (from stand by) seems to be done before that sequence.
BUT maybe F-series supports INFO+FACTORY (from normal mode) = TV simply on, too. - At least on older models this was a descibed way.

On my F-Series 6470 I was just able to disable OTN without going to any extended service menu, just the default service menu accessed by
[MENU] [MUTE] [POWER].

Did somebody check if (on model that requires extended service menu) the OTN Option in fact is in "normal" service menu but just in different place ? :D Maybe it's hidden like on E ? :D

please make photos. I can not find in my F7000. It appears in a menu, that is not presented in the regular service menu.

I checked my TV and attached is what I have for both F8000 and 22F...something with FW 1119: CONTROL->SWU . after that I have:
- OTN Server Type: operating
- OTN test Server: OFF
- SWU Reset
- SWU Duration : OFF
- SWU fail Test : 0

But no OTN Support.

yes, this is the short menu... you need the extended one to turn it off.

On F80xx the advaced service menu looks like is as described here: http://wiki.samygo.tv/index.php5/How_To ... re_Updates

FACTORY+3SPEED_inv.wav does not work!

My way:
- Turn TV on
- Play INFO_FACTORY_inv.wav (to open Service Menu from ordinary TV)
- Play FACTORY_from_Remote_inv.wav AND 3SPEED_from_Remote_inv.wav (be very quick!!!)

-> then disable OTN as described in WIKI
- Turn TV off to be sure, that changes get really stored

Thats it! TVs are safe now, so lets go SamyGO! ;)

 BTW, can updates still be done from the ordinary menu with the search option? Or does not the TV find updates anymore, so that firmware can only installed from USB? :?:
