Picture in Picture replacement?

I wasn't aware that PIP allowed AV as a Sub-picture. How do you do that? In my 650 manual, it says only the TV tuners can be used.

Also, AV can't be selected as Main picture, although I just posted in the Screen Resizer thread that the extension allows creation of a PIP on this source, though it's probably unintentional. I suspect it would be possible, though the problem might be scaling the picture, as a digital source has more resolutions and frequency options.
