But I always failed on the first step which is openssh installation on the tv. There was some error about missing library which I dont remember the exact name beucase I'm not at the tv right away but if it is required, I can post it tonight.

in SamyGO All Extensions pack you have a working sshd and ssh client and all libs.

but in your case isn't enough to set the proxy in the widget settings? i guess there is an option in the yahoo panel.
for console apps normaly linux applications honor the env variables:
