Unfortunately, the cidero page does not seem to exist any more in a way that permits downloading and I can't find it anywhere else. Can you help me out in this regard?

Why don't you just share your DVD PC drive and use it over Samba to play content?

Hi,
well, this works more or less but moreover less.
There are several problems that make this way of sharing the DVD inconveniant.
1. One needs an (illegal) program such as AnyDVD in order to overcome the copy protection
2. The DVD is displayed as VOB-files on the TV. Once you find the correct vob file, each vob file only has about 20 minutes. Thus, every time 20 min have gone by, the TV switches to the next file which will last several seconds.
3. After having switched to the next vob file, I will have to rechoose the audio track I want to listen to.
That's why it would be just awesome to have an output option of VLC that pushes it's stream directly onto the TV
