Hello all,
I'm currently working on an iPhone app for the B-series Remote.
I only use the command codes that I found in the source codes of the Windows application to control the TV.
I have a lot of ideas for the user interface itself, by using smart buttons, gesturing, using the iPhone keyboard to control the YouTube interface, etc.
Here are some screenshots of the very first beta (only functional, no graphical masterpiece):

I have a few questions that you can hopefully answer, since I am not familiar with the Open Source and GNU license:
- Since I only use these key codes from your source code, do I have to comply to the GNU license and publish all my source code of my iPhone app?
- If that is the case, will Apple OR you allow me to upload this app to the App Store, since the Apple EULA does not follow the GNU (see for example the VLC player:
http://www.tipb.com/2011/01/08/vlc-officially-pulled-app-store/)?
- I saw the Android app from Tom Quist (
http://quist.de/2011/02/remote-control-samsung-tv-with-android-phone/?lang=en). He also published his source code, including the graphical images for the buttons. Same questions apply here when I want to re-use these images.
I hope there is a possibility that I continue to develop this iPhone app.
Please have a look at my current iPhones apps:
