New web inferface (Webif) for SamyGO
AW: New web inferface (Webif) for SamyGO
Oh sorry wrong name, need to fix instructions. Address is HTTP://IP/cgi-bin/Modules.cgi then.
Also test.CGI should work anyway, comes with samygo.

Re: New web inferface (Webif) for SamyGO
Hmmm, as usually, it doesn't work for me... only empty page is rendered from Modules.cgi (tested in IE9/Win7 and old SeaMonkey 1.19/WinXP).
Source of the resulting page:
How can I debug what's going on there?
(the test.cgi is working fine of course, as is the phpsysinfo and the webshell...)

Code: Select all
<head><title>Modules</title></head>

Re: New web inferface (Webif) for SamyGO
for debug you can run the script directly or take a look into apache error log file in /dtv/apache.error.log, i just tried Firefox yet
Re: New web inferface (Webif) for SamyGO
Heh, guys, I probably don't get the whole idea... :-O
After I switched the TV off and on again, the script is gone... all deleted...
Don't tell me that users are supposed to download (wget) and install (untar) the script after every TV boot... :-O
As for the Apache error log, nothing suspicious there, just info about missing favicon.ico. But apparently nothing about any eventual errors during execution of the CGI script...

For install the webif it loads the file only to /dtv/cgi-bin/ then you go to the page in the first post and install it. After the install it is permanent, but according to your post you did not get far enough. Will try internet explorer later
Re: New web inferface (Webif) for SamyGO
The Modules.cgi simply does not produce any output here, even after installing the webif manually over ftp (so that I can see the left Navigation frame now, etc.).
Also, the Info.cgi script looks for some info which apparently does not exist on my TV, here is the output I get:
As you see, lot of info is missing...
For example, I don't have any "common" directory in /mtd_rwcommon, so there is no info about the Widget Server and MAC address... there is no "otn" directory in /mtd_rwarea, so there is no info about DUID. In fact, I was not able to find this info anywhere in the TV so far...
To be honest, this is so frustrating... f*ck you Samsung, I'm going to get some DVB-C tuners from Digital Devices for my HTPC as soon as my budget allows me and then BYE-BYE, stupid Samsung's built-in "functionality"!

@Spoza thank you for the input and testing, even if you are not happy at all you helped to fix things, the problem was that the $TMPDIR was not there (/mtd_rwcommon/temp)
i am not familiar with MStar yet because i only have an Arm based, maybe i should ask for a dump (later not now)

Re: New web inferface (Webif) for SamyGO
Okay, after manually creating temp dir in /mtd_rwcommon it works...
I tried to install the movie manager and it displays the extended characters incorrectly... I hope to add more details later...
Anyway, if you guys want some testers, you need to create CLEAR and COMPREHENSIVE(!) instructions how to make this whole thing working. And the instructions must be UP-TO-DATE, i.e. they are completely useless even if only one small thing is not correct or if they are not kept updated with latest development.
If you target USERS with your applications, you can't expect developer's knowledge, no DIY...
I mean, don't get me wrong, I'm glad to help (even if I may not sound like that ), but it seems that I'm pretty alone... most other users are just desperately trying to find some useful informations, but fail most of the time, because the bits and pieces of info are chaotically spread around the forum, wiki pages contain only basic info (and sometimes even outdated)...
That certainly won't encourage common people to start testing...
