Firmware Downgrade D-Series (SamyGO Proof of Concept)

I've just noticed after the firmware downgrade to 1015 and also 1018 that my BBC iplayer app, will not play any thing, everything else Seems to work find with the app ie search and browsing for programs, but I can't seem to play anything, the play arrow is not there?

Does this firmware change any server settings for the UK?

I've just done a reset of the smart hub, which has now removed the SammyGo widget, and BBC iplayer is now working?

Is this a bug with Sammy go?

there are no bugs with samygo, just with samsung firmware.

After coming out of smart hub and going back in, I've lost the play function again? Does anything else get changed when pulling firmware from you site?

the only thing what samsung changes in they firmware is the SmartHub database version. so if you update the firmware your device start to use
the latest database. problem is if a widget/app gets updated samsung do an update in older smarthub database too.
(here you can make your own opinion about "korean logic")

Netflix widget does not work with 1018 firmware, the app requests an upgrade to firmware.

see point above.
maybe you can write to netflix/maxdome/etc... and tell them if they like to get money from you then here is something to fix.

I've got a 51D8000 also and I'm trying to downgrade from 1019 to 1015 or 1016, you sort of doing the same downgrade are you having any problems as I'm sort of following the guide but getting confused as to how it updates the TV to 1015 and not the latest firmware in step 2??

Have you done yours yet and how did you manage it?

Any ideas, I have factory reset by holding down EXIT for 15 sec but still the same... Confused.

silly question but are you familar with how to upgrade FW via usb? usually you download and execute the file wich extracts a folder .... its this folder you then move over onto your usb

Done FW upgrades in the past, run the .exe and extract to usb drive, put the usb pen into TV then select upgrade from usb... Worked fine in the past but doesn't seem to work since the downgrade

I get the message that google stopped maps in april 2012? Still workable in pc etc, what does this mean?

Do I need later firmware for this app to work too?

I've been told you have to do a factory reset.... But only the usb option works for me know? Don't know is this is normal for standared firmware.....I have a funny feeling this firmware is not oem:eek:
