Hey,
Right. So lets try all from the beginning. Follow these steps:
I know you have probably done it like 1000 times, but just follow this step by step! (Feel like I am a stewardess about to give the security presentation... haha)
*hint: make sure bluray does cold start (you should hear the bluray drive make a few funny sounds, i.e. its initiating) if it does not unplug for longer.
1. Turn the home theatre system off, unplug it completely 2 min*
2. Plug it back in, go to network settings
3. change ip mode to manual
4. make sure the ip address is within your network setup (should be already set)
5. change DNS setting
6. click ok
7. click cancel on internet check
8. exit to main screen then turn off bluray using the remote
9. unplug bluray from power for 2 min*
10. turn bluray back on
11. go to settings - support
12. wait for software update to light up
13. click by internet
14. hopefully it will install
In case it gets stuck on 80%, try repeating procedure 2-3 times.
If that still doesnt help, try to flushdns in your router if possible.
Make sure your router has only 1 DNS and no others. (Restart Router!)
Still no luck try this:
Turn off DHCP on router, set up ips manually
try again.
It does work you just have to get settings right for your bluray to contact the right addresses when downloading.
Oh I have one more possibility, try and find a friend with a different internet provider to what you are using. Maybe IP gets routed through a weird proxy or something.
Sorry I cannot be of much help otherwise, I have to say troubleshooting without seeing the setup and playing around myself is hard.

Hi all,
I'm a newbie here and decided to join/register today because of that beast Cinavia. First of all, just wanna say thanks to "arris" and "chaosmaker" for your knowledge and trying to help out here.
Now here comes the painful part, I'm one of those unlucky owner of the Samsung BD-D5700 bluray player that knows nothing about Cinavia until a couple days ago. I've read the entire thread and saw a few people/member with the same model "BD-D5700" that successfully downgraded firmware. That being said, I still have hope for my bluray player (maybe).
Here's the situation:
My son knows nothing and updates every firmware that pops up on the player whenever connected (thanks to Samsung now my bluray is crippled with Cinavia).
Firmware: 1028
Player: BD-D5700
So my question is....
Can this be downgrade because evidently I don't need any Cinavia crap?
Do I have to manually change the DNS on my wireless DSL router/modem and DNS on bluray player to: 46.4.199.222 in order to downgrade?
Why can't someone make an ISO of this wonderful downgrade firmware version so we all can just burn it to cd-r and update/downgrade via disc on the player?
I know there's tons of instructions already, but I just want to make sure that's all. Please some one help and tell me. Thanks for your helps.

Because Samsung disabled this feature.davidx wrote: Why can't someone make an ISO of this wonderful downgrade firmware version so we all can just burn it to cd-r and update/downgrade via disc on the player?
But you need only one. From the first message of this thread.I know there's tons of instructions already, but I just want to make sure that's all. Please some one help and tell me. Thanks for your helps.

Re: Firmware Downgrade D-Series (SamyGO Proof of Concept, BD
Thanks to all.... this site/community is awesome. Anyways, here's the updated: IT WORKED...!!! downgraded back to version 1015.
Samsung BD-D5700 (downgraded from 1028 ==> 1015 successfully).
Tested movie file: PROJECT X (.mkv file play smoothly with no Cinavia crap)
Here's what I did:
<> Power off Bluray player with "no disc" in tray, unplug cord off the wall for 5 - 10 minutes.
<> while bluray player is off the wall, change the DNS from your wireless/DSL/router/modem network to 46.4.199.222
<> I had 2 DNS, so I just put both using the same as 46.4.199.222
<> click "Apply", then "Reboot" router
<> plug bluray power cord back on, turn power on bluray player via control
<> go straight to "settings, network, network status, IP settings," and change DNS from bluray player to "Manual," then change DNS to 46.4.199.222, then click "OK"
(I didn't even do anything with IP address, Subnet, and Gateway, I leave those in Auto Mode)
<> exit out, and turn off bluray player with remote, unplug cord off the wall for 5 minutes
<> plug bluray power cord back on, turn power on bluray player again via control
<> go to "settings, support," then wait 15 secs for "software update", click "update from internet"
<> it should download software XX90, just wait til download completed
<> then upgrade now, once it's done, power off, wait for 1 minute, turn power on again
<> now go check the version via settings, software and it should be [Current Version: 2011/08/05_001015]
<> after downgraded successfully, remember to change both your DNS from router and bluray player back to normal.
Hope this helps for future BD-D5700 owners.

Re: Firmware Downgrade D-Series (SamyGO Proof of Concept, BD
I've got to the point I can download the downgradeable firmware, but it goes to 94 % and then it gos back an forth between 94-99 and back to 93 and so on and then I get the 800 error (resources error). i've tried several times and it starts from 94 % and just cannot go up to 100.
My firmware is BPH-D8500EUB-1010.1 and it tries to download firmware 1007.
Is there any chance in near future that I could downgrade my firmware?
Any information/help is appreciated.

Firstly thanks to all here for your support even though it still not worked for me.
My HT-D5550 (current Softwareversion: HTB-6500EUB-1013.1) constantly refuses to download 01112. I followed all suggestions of Chaos in his last post. With my usual ISP I get stuck in the 80% loop getting always error code 800. I changed DNS, turned off DHCP, set IPs manually, nothing works. Finally I tried to give the BD internet access via my Macbook which was internet-connected by mobile card. If I turned internet access to auto, BD showed, that internet access is correct, so connection should work. But if I changed the dns-setting to 46.4.199.222 and turned BD off and on as proposed I get error code 400, saying there is no update available.
Does that mean, that for my Player there is no software available or is it just another bug? Why is it trying to download 01112 via my normal network?
Still any ideas? I?m close to give up, it?s really frustrating.
Thanks in advance.

Did you set both DNS from your network/router and Bluray player DNS to 46.4.199.222?Firstly thanks to all here for your support even though it still not worked for me.

My mistake...
I have firmware 1010.1 (BPH-D8500EUB-1010.1). My device is BD-D8200N
I now managed to download firmware which is 1107. (not 1007!)
I didn't install it, because I'm not sure this firmware is compatible with my device. Could someone please tell me if it's safe to install it?
