Network ports

Post by oga83 »

I open this thread to share about network ports on BD units.
If you have any info or idea about the ports below, please post here.

My BD-E8300 has the following opened ports :

Code: Select all

PORT      STATE SERVICE
6000/tcp  open  X11
7676/tcp  open  unknown
9090/tcp  open  zeus-admin
9900/tcp  open  unknown
52345/tcp open  unknown
55000/tcp open  unknown
55001/tcp open  unknown
I also saw ports 80,443,4443 once (after running 'Upgrade' and 'Remote Management' in Assistance menu), but t was not able to reproduce it.

* Port 6000 : [EDIT] X11 server for screen replication (smartphone to TV) ?
* Port 7676 : ???
* Port 9090 : ???
* Port 9900 : Supports HbbTV protocol, probably for multi screen (http://www.etsi.org/deliver/etsi_ts/102 ... 10101p.pdf). Don't know how to use it...
* Port 52345 : Well known for Samsung Remote
* Ports 55000 : Used for DLNA
* Ports 55001 : Used for DLNA

The followings UDP ports can also be opened (but are closed by default - don't know how to have them opened)

Code: Select all

PORT     STATE  SERVICE
16967/udp closed unknown
34953/udp closed unknown
* Port 16967 : DSG / CM
* Port 34953 : DSG / CM Data
Both of them are used for Docsis Set-top Gateway (http://www.scte.org/documents/pdf/stand ... 202010.pdf)

yes, I did, but nothing really happens there. I found in the BD player settings a remote control option by samsung operator. Maybe there is a trick to do a terminal connect to one of these ports.

I also tried telnet and ssh connection to any of ports, with no success. I found when I try to do https connection on port 80 and 8080 the browser make some reconnects (3-4 times), maybe it looks for some script or information on my browser to do appropriate access.

I though ssh was not enabled on any D or E series? Wouldnt you have to try netcat?

Port 22 is not opened => No ssh
Ports 20, 110 and 143 are the most surprising here. They are closed on both my BD-D8900 and BD-E8300
Ports 80, 443 and 4443 are opened when you enter the "assistance menu"

What I meant was that the linux flavour used in D and E series doesnt include an ssh compatibility at all.
If you are short of a linux system why not use cygwin, there is a netcat package there.

Netcat is also available for Windows (without cygwin) :
