Certainly something I'd be interested in. I upgraded before applying the region free codes, which dont work on the newer firmware.

Well I am also interested because I made the same mistake I guess on a BD-E6100 which is the like BD-E5500 without the wi-fi. Which firmware do you have Andy?

As I see different FW. B-BRCME55BSP 1015.1 and B-FIRBPEWWC 1013.0. Different size of FW (BD-E6100 has bigger size of FW).

Hi,
I bought a BD-E5500 with the hope to change it to a region free player.
I have tried all the compinations in the posts with no success. I also guess that it is because of the firmware upgrade.
It would be great to have the procedure ....

Hi. I have purchased a june 2012 built samsung blu ray 3d player which has cinavia.Can i downgrade it to make it cinavia free. In other words, is BD-E5500 downgrade supported on samygo ? HELP? juuso
