Mainboard replace: c530/550 and c630 TO c650/c679, get PVR !

Wow... really interesting. In how much time could it be done? I own a C530 and I could transform it into a C650?

Advantages are Internet tv, PVR, hack (enable nfs) ?

That polish shop has very good prices! And good for me as I travel to Poland sometimes

But now that I am thinking. Isn't it better to get a hackable samsung bluray player to have the widgets/PVR and so on?

Yes, you can get hd player instead. Its up to you

The whole procedure takes up to 30 min ... okey, maybe longer because of lot of screws you have to unscrew ...

Can the blueray player be also controlled by the same samsung remote?

With mainboard of c650 your tv get all what c650 has (all you've listed). But no MHz because you don't change panel. You still remain on 50 mhz. About bd player - if anynet+ is switched on (don't know if c530 has such feature), then possible to use one rc. But I guess here is no anynet. Check and tell us instead of asking.

There is anynet on C530. I guess then is worth to buy bluray hackable player instead of replacing tv mainboard

I did it !
I successfully 'upgraded' my LE40C630(T-VAL6DEUC) to LE40C650(T-VALDEUC) by just exchanging mainbords
So the Wiki page http://wiki.samygo.tv/index.php5/Upgrad ... _mainboard can be updated, it is not mentioned there that it works for this model type.

Everything worked 'out of the box'. Changing boards takes about 15min. The setup (search for channels, set desired options) afterwards is more time consuming.

Now I will start to play with widgets and Samygo extensions ...

As i wrote already, here are some problems with lvds cable. Some of users reported - they got TV working after remaking original from c530/550, but i got reports about failed upgrade to c650. Also manual for remaking of LVDS cable to be suitable for C550 T-CON is missing. Here are more questions than answers, but if you`re good in electronic, then yes, i would say - go on

p.s. no difference between mainboards. At least for you. And as you don`t know if you get it working, don`t buy back panel

Thx for the very fast reply ! So this is not clear for me. There is an LVDS cable orginal which is not compatible with the c650 panel. Ok I see it. no problem.
So I got it well I need to order BN96-12723C LVDS Screen Cable cable and I need to modify it as well , because the screen panel side (orginal) connector is not compatible with this cable or ?
Do you know some instruction or pic what should have to be modded ? I am good in electronics and if it is too tiny work ( microscope is needed than i have some friends ) , but for me at the moment is not clear what steps needs to be done for this cable problem.
