Smart Hub on ES8090 does not start after FW Update [solved]

Post by ThePief »

Hey guys,

I've updated my ES8090 with your FW according the description in this forum. Everything worked well. TV via Port 1080 and FTP is accessable.

Now here my problem:
After trying to start the Smart Hub with a pluged LAN cable directly after starting TV, it does not work. I got only for maybe just one second the "Start" Icon in the upper right corner of the TV.
If I'm starting the TV without a plugged LAN cable and try then to open Smart Hub everything works fine.

Can you tell me what's wrong? What can I do to correct this?

Thanks

Hi,

have the same problem. The smart hub is not able to start with connection to the internet.
When i switch on the tv without connection to Inet, and start the smarthub, it runs - but i have no new icons of the samygo apps.
But the installtion has to be done i think, because i can access via ftp and telnet.
I also tryed to install the all extensions - just without any modifications - and virtual usb is running.

What i did was the FW update with method "proof of concept". Download was succesfull, installation also. When I start the TV now, there is the new logo.
I got the test2 icon in smarthub what is new - but no other additional new ones.
Now when i try to redo update, i get the error 800 by proof of concept method, and when i try to do a upgrade to samsung latest release with automatic dns, the message that tv is on latest FW pops up.

Is there a way to repair some files or overwrite via ftp, to get the smarthub running again?
Or did i forget to activate anything?

Help please!
Thanks!

Hey together,

looks like nobody knows this issue. In this case, can someone explain me how I can play the original (unpatched) FW back on my TV?

Thanks

Have you changed Infolink country in service menu? Perhaps here is "none" and that`s why smarthub wont start. I`ve had same issue on D series and solved.

Hey,
I don't know what Infolink Country is set up. The point is, I cannot find it in my Sub Option Menu. Either after trying the activation like described here http://wiki.samygo.tv/index.php5/How_to ... @TV_region for the C Series TV.
Even using ruSTVC http://wiki.samygo.tv/index.php5/Remote ... 8ruSTVC.29 does not open the extended Sub Options.
Can you explain me how I can activate the extended Sub Options? The only way is to use the homemade IR transmitter?

Thanks.

Same happen today for me. Suddenly smarthub stopped to start, none of service menu values helped. I remmeber some user complained about this and after all the problem was samsungs servers or so.

i`m no D series, btw.

Hey,

The point is, there is a workaround, like i descriped in my first posting. Start up your TV without the LAN cable is plugged in. Then start smarthub and in this moment plug your cable in. Then everything in working well...
Maybe someone can log this issue if possible.

Hey together,

now I have one more problem. But I haven't changed anything meanwhile.
My TV is restarting all the time I have the LAN cable plugged in. It's booting and after about 30 seconds it's restarting all the time.
When I plug the LAN cable after the TV started up, it's working well.

Can someone explain me how I can install the original FW on my TV back?
What will happen, if I would make a factory reset?

Thanks a lot.

Make sure to unplug your TV completely a few times.
Make sure you're not running some funky firewall settings.
Make sure you've setup your TV's network settings correctly.
Make sure you never UPDATE firmware until we tell you it's OK to do so. ;)
Try a factory reset in the Service menu.

My problem was different from yours but was depended from SmartHub too (ES6100 with 1030.1). Formatting mtd_rwarea and mtd_rwcommon helped me. Check this thread for manual: viewtopic.php?f=50&t=5270 . Problem disappeared after this.
