[SOLVED]Exlink Failure

Post by lambda79 »

Hello
i made a Exlink cable using a TTL-232R-3V3 from FTDI Chip http://www.ftdichip.com/Support/Documen ... CABLES.pdf and considering the wire connexion Image i did solder to get the result
Image
meaning i put RX on 5 (yellow) and TXD on orange (4) and GND on 1 (black):
Image
My soldering skills are not that good but i think its ok (gonna post a pic soon)
Once in a terminal i launch :

Code: Select all

# cu -l /dev/ttyUSB0 -s 115200
Connected.
Terminal is waiting for text input or output.
Bad thing is that nothing is ever displayed ... whatever I shutdown and power on the tv terminal stay blank.
making short circuit between TX and GND while cu binary is waiting send plenty of ???0??????????? to the terminal.

I don't know if i have this cable working and cant have an exploitable debug output
by the way Debug mode for the RS232 port is enabled in service menu
I am tryng on a C series UE32C60000RWXZF but got same behavior on MD40B TV (LH40MEBPLGC/EN) (the model i definitely want to hack)
Could someone much more knowledgeable give me a hand ?
thx you
T-MSX6DEUC-1002.1 (UE32C6000 model) i gonna soon try Hack over Hotel Mode without USB disk (hopefully it will go smooth)
