Re: Is NonWorking Samsung LN40C630 Bricked?
It would be quite silly to make malware that causes such problems, its better when unsuspicious.
Yes, Linux is correct, thats why you get SSH access after you rooted your tv and started samygo extensions....
You still could have a hardware problem like faulty vga-ram or the tuner section, to determine this you need to have a look inside and without ssh you only have ex-link, you could also try to format the rw / userspace partitions via ex-link top debug menu.

//UE40C6500 @ T-VALDEUC 3011 // rooted manual HotelMode style // PVR to NFS via 18MB on-the-fly sparse XFS //
FYI: you can close your ssh session with SamyGO with
If you can't fix it using dvct tape, you are not using enough dvct tape.

Samsung LN40C630 OS? Tutorials, Guides?
beatfreak,
"Yes, Linux is correct" The source I checked did not mention the Distro. Am guessing that it is Android but if not, am I able to run Android Apps on the Samsung OS?
Looked in the charts and the C630 uses TVALDEUC. Does TVALDEUC "Root" the Samsung TV OS?
"You still could have a hardware problem like faulty vga-ram or the tuner section, to determine this you need to have a look inside and without ssh you only have ex-link, you could also try to format the rw / userspace partitions via ex-link top debug menu"
Clarification "you need to have a look inside" Do you mean physically looking with your eyes or a photograph? Or looking with test equipment and software readout?
"you could also try to format the rw / userspace partitions via ex-link top debug menu." What would this accomplish?
This may only be relevant to Windows OS. When started repairing Win OSes was told not to even bother trying to "repair it" just wipe the hard drive and do a new install of Windows.
How easy is it to do a clean install of the Samsung TV OS?
Also are there any tutorials, guides... for Windows users new to Samsung Linux OS?
Thanks again for your patience and help!!!

Necessary Remote Codes?
beatfreak,
Have not found a Samsung remote yet.
Do have a 2014 Universal Remote and was told it has all the Samsung codes.
What Controls/Codes are necessary?
Thanks

Re: Is NonWorking Samsung LN40C630 Bricked?
If you have the up,down, left, right,ok,return, exit buttons and number keys 0-9 then it would be ok...
You cannot specify something like a distro for samsung TVs, its more a general linux fitted for embedded hardware
T-VALDEUC is the specific installation for the C-Series TVs with "Valencia"-Hardware Base (internal physical components)
you cannot install it like an OS, as it runs from read-only internal flash memory soldered onto mainboard, you only can install up/ downgrades for different versions from within a running OS via official update function.
rooting is done by bringing custom scripts into the filesystem (on the rw-partitons) that get executed automatically by the samsung os
through formatting the rw-partitions you only set it back to factory defaults "the hard way"
by a look inside i mean at the console/status outputs of the os

Thanks Detailed Comments, USB Tests, Remote Control Tests?
beatfreak,
Thanks again for the detailed comments!
Was able to get a Flash Drive that lights.
USB Flash Drive Tests.
1st connected USB Drive to USB1 (HDD) then connected AC cord only (power light off) There was slow blinking (did not measure # blinks/sec) left on for ~ 5 minutes and did not change or stop.
2nd turned power on USB Drive light went off and never came back on or blinked.
"If you have the up,down, left, right,ok,return, exit buttons and number keys 0-9 then it would be ok" Will check.

Photo TV Inputs?
beatfreak,
Made a photo of the Samsung back control panel tried to upload but too large will resize to 1024x768
Was reading Ex-Link Cable for C/D/E Series and BD players http://wiki.samygo.tv/index.php5/Ex-Lin ... BD_players
This set seems to have a separate EX-Link input.
It also has a LAN connector to connect to PC.
