How do you know it will have "latest firmware"?:)maffiya wrote:I'm going to buy a Samsung BD-F6500 with the latest firmware on it.
Remember to DO NOT connect device to the internet BEFORE rooting!!! Also how do you want to "turn the automatic updates off"? You are going to use the menu? That will not workmaffiya wrote: Can I root the device anyway, as long I turn the automatic updates off before rooting?
Only if you want to risk HAVING Cinavia and DON'T having rootmaffiya wrote: May I update my device before rooting or not?

Got the files downloaded on the USB, plugged it in, the folder comes up but nothing happens...
Suppose to do something else or didn't download something right??
Not being able to see app has NOTHING to do with whether the rooting will work or not. It's your job to launch the rooting app. We know that for some users it required MAAAAANY attemptsCactusRich wrote: Could it be that my BD player will not work with this technique? I have a f5900 also on firmware 1018 i found it would work if....before inserting usb you went into apps....then more apps and while on the more apps screen insert usb and it will show up. If you get bluray discs with cinavia to play without ejecting and saying dirty disc etc please let me know, i know some people have been able to do it, but i have tried various ways without success.CactusRich wrote:Hi and I hope I can get some help here.
I followed the instructions for the F series and the folder never appears under the Smart Hub Apps. I have tried plugging in the USB stick before powering up.... unplugging the power and then plugging the USB in and powering up.....but it never appears in the Smart Hub Apps....
Could it be that my BD player will not work with this technique? I have a BD-FM59C with firmware 1018.
Thanks for any assistance you can give me.
Check the forum and find some way to make it appear... For me it ALWAYS appear. Can't help you with that. How do you know root is gone ? Do you still have telnet at port 5023?NeoMoucha wrote: What more can I try?
