BBC iPlayer - Showing Website Only

Post by DarkHorse »

Ive loaded up the BBC iPLayer widget and it is only showing the iPlayer website (and not the native widget) so programs cannot be selected.

I am using a H-Series Samsung Smart TV and used the widget from here. viewtopic.php?f=70&t=8430

Is anyone having the same issue that has found a solution?

You need v2.0266 or newer for H series TV's.

@arris69 - any chance you can post BBC iPlayer v2.0266 or above for us H-Series owners?

Scratch my comment above. Thanks to @M11 supplying the H-Series widget version number, I've modified the URL of an earlier version and found it located at http://d3mjsomixevyw7.cloudfront.net/fi ... 2.0266.zip

I look forward to loading it up on my H-Series to confirm it works.

It works, i have been using it almost for a year.

You can also try v2.02662 with update date 201406.
The latest version is v2.02672 but i have not been able to find that. Problem is that H series is using new authentication for downloading apps and as far as i know, no one can get the apps that are only available on H series.

I'm wondering what J series will bring... According to developer docs "Tizen-based Samsung TV doesn't support direct install of package file." It seems there is not even a way for developers to test their apps on TV's. I'm hoping that there is someone here who can write something like SamyGO app (i modified it a little and i'm using it to copy apps to TV). Of course i'm not sure if that is possible, according to docs everything is read only.

Hmm. Doesn't seem available (http://d3mjsomixevyw7.cloudfront.net/fi ... .02662.zip), but with such a small version update number, I'm happy with the version I linked above.

Another thing, I see in the config.xml file, autoUpdate is set to 'y'. Do you know if the app updates if it is side-loaded?

Try this: It does not autoupdate. It really can't, because it's not available for TV if Your Smart Hub is not set to UK.

Okay. Loaded it onto a USB and it worked. That said, it completed crashed my TV when I first opened it. Not even the power button on the remote would reset it so I have to unplug the TV from the mains - ouch.

Anyways, after a reboot, it loaded fine so I watched Match of the Day last night. Happy chappy.

Hi

I have the same problem on my J series TV, it seems to just show the website which I cannot navigate with my remote. I am using version 2.02407 which I got from arris69's SamsungApp list. Is there a version that solves this on J series?
