I think your firmware is "restricted" firmware. They stop allowing ExLink access at latest firmwares. Sorry.

do not worry. Its just firmware identifier. Flash tv with the earlier firmware from firmware update menu and after you don`t see 1018.1 again.

Do you tried CTRL+C at from ExLink? That needed to kill your exeDSP and will bring you the Shell. At least it's true for non restricted firmwares...
Unfortunately you cannot enable the telnet, nor ExLink. There is no common way to enter the TV.
I remember something about "emergency script" (emergency.sh ?)located at USB, that initiated from TV on some special condition but don't exactly how.. I think I see under firmware partition images. Does any one remember this or where is the related bash script? Unfortunately mine one erased at accidental HDD partition format (backup, need backup...) and I don't re-download them from TV again. If you have will, you might find some root/boot partition images at internet for invent new way to reach TVs shell.
