Thought it was better to paste here.

I have BD-F6500 with 1021 FW.

I have followed the instructions exactly and i do not get any application appearing in the Smart Hub to load the SamyGo application.

Can anyone help?

I have tried different USB sticks and also tried beta and non-beta to no avail.

I have blocked the URL's in FW update too.

Thanks

If ever you encounter problems on step to make installation widget appear in Smarthub, here's a report collection:
* Reboot the tv and don't plug the usb drive.
* Open Smart Hub > Apps > More Apps and then put the usb drive and exit from the screen for new device found.
* SamyGO -F widget will appears after that.
finally, i managed to install samygo. after 5 or more attemps the app appeared under "more apps".
The installation widget only shows up when plugging flash usb drive under more apps section.
Biggest hangup seemed to be getting the app to appear in the smarthub. Took several unplug/re-plug cycles while viewing the "more apps" section before the widget appeared.
It should appear automatically after inserting the USB (exit the usb pop-up first) but sometimes you need to exit out of the smarthub and go back for it to get loaded in the smarthub more apps menu.
The "trick" is to let the "New device" screen time out.
I do NOT receive any PM. Please use forum.

Thank-you zoelechat.

I followed this list of suggestions and thank-you this worked.

I first had the stick plugged in and it did not appear under "more apps", however whilst having "more apps" opened up I then plugged the stick back in and it appeared.

All working now, thank-you :-)

Hey everyone,

I need to update my HT-E5500 as I can't log into my Plex account anymore as they changed the protocol from SSL3 to TLS...
Does anyone know whether the root still works on 1023.1 (B-FIRHT7WWC)? (That's a July release of the software)

Thanks

Using the instructions in this thread.

Plugged USB in, started SamyGO App in smarthub
Rebooted bluray player, while leaving usb in place.
Started Smarthub, started Webbrowser.

No root, still can't telnet to any of the give ports.
What else to try?

You have to set "Quick Start" to off in System settings before rebooting. Perhaps that's the reason why it doesn't work?

You're absolutely right, turning off Quick Start in System Settings did the trick!
Now rooted on 1021 firmware.

Do you insert the USB when in "Applications view"?
Do you look for SamyGO inside "Application View"/More.
I.e. select "button" in the bottom

Hello,

I would like some help if possible.

I installed the samygo files on the blu ray player, but after I reebot the bluray, and go to web browser, the only thing that pops up is the google main page. Is there a tutorial for fix that?

Thank you

Hi,
I need some help, trying to root samsung bd f6700 bluray player so I can later run the cinavia patchF. I ran the samygo widget from smart hub and rebooted but cannot seem to telnet on any of the ports recommended ie 1023 2023 5023.
samylog is at http://ctrlv.it/id/6215/4288029270

telnet says "could not open connection to the host on port xx" connection failed

thanks
