3. Install raspbian/osmc and hyperion (https://github.com/tvdzwan/hyperion/wiki) on raspberry.

Requirements:

1. Raspberry Pi (not A model) (https://www.raspberrypi.org/products/)
2. WS2801 strip. Price is about $20/meter. (http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=ws2801+strip)
3. USB Video grabber. (http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=usb+video+grabber)
4. Power supply 5V. Power (AMP) is variable and depends on the length of used LED strip. WS2801 consumes 2A per meter. I bought 10A for 4m. (http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_nkw=led ... ly+adapter)

Price for my configuration: 112 $

No, you can use raspbian, usb grabber for video data from TV (scart) and watching TV. I am using osmc (static images/full color) for testing and configuring. This is time killer

Great work, I have leds and capture from lightbery website but I could not manage to make them work. Do you think that they can be used for this project? Could you upload your rpi image somewhere? Do I need my rpi to be connected with HDMI cable all of the time? Thanks

Hi,

i have just registered to this forum.
it seems that my Samsung 55D7090 is able to be rooted an sammygo can be installed.

I can not get to your first link because i still have not donated.
But before i would donate, do you know if the LibPVRtoscart works on Samsung D series or is it just working with F Model?
Because i have already all requirements and my boblight works with an external dreambox 8000 and it would be nice to have it direkt over the TV.
