I would like to try this root method. As I understand, all my custom settings and "apps" still alive after running this widget. There is not need to reconfigure the whole settings, right?

No, this answer is great and enough. Root exploit with this method works really good.

USB was not needed "before", when you were using Skype root.
Don't forget, in case it's not big and red enough:

UE40F7000 and 1118
If I turn on the TV and start manually Samygo widget, it does not work if there is no the USB attached. I'm confused.
