no idea yet, but it is a good starting point I think.
seems the shell needs to be activated first somehow...

Maybe some more info about it ?
is it just for some test inside Samsung, or what is this shell/root reason in SDB please ?

I am just trying to discover what does these things do, nothing else, nothing more

I am asking for help... not trying to teach

Fresh mind can only be beneficial towards unlikely "we know all" anyway, so don't give up

i didnt say we know all and even restricted it to rooting.
unless he finds/provides app and kernel exploits this is virtually useless in regards to rooting/accessing TV

I think a big misunderstanding here is that you are preoccupied to "rooting",
I am not trying to find a rooting here, I am just asking if you know what are those functions like the open shell in tizen studio - if this is usable for the TV too, or why is there a root password set in /etc/passwd etc...
nothing else just trying to discover things : how the things are working.
for me there is no benefit of rooting, I don't have satellite antenna that I can maybe use card sharing, or don't need NAS functionality, also don't need to decrypt the recorded stuff as I am writing own program for "kodi" pages to get the stuffs from those servers etc... and anyway I will always use the latest firmware due to development...
one thing is to read the codes, next thing is to ask other experienced peoples opinion/experience - the code will never show other peoples experience

btw can we go back to the technical discussion ? I think the psychological forum is on a different server...
