Fully sertified version of the tv is m5502ua and costs 14000 uah (=520 usd).
Some sellers sell nor sertified tvs for around 10000 uah (=370 usd)
So i traded 150$ for a headache

new4or wrote: Tue Nov 07, 2017 6:51 pm actually reading related topics led me to understanding changing smart-hub country alone may not be enough to make it work in the country it is not indended to work in.
Indeed that's why I didn't talk about SM yet.
new4or wrote: Tue Nov 07, 2017 6:51 pm (seller confirmed that the pin was changed to prevent buyers from accessing some settings)
LOL, means you didn't even have the right to make a channel search!?
new4or wrote: Tue Nov 07, 2017 6:51 pm i guess seller modified the firmware to make tv adress right sams servers or to make tv appear as sertified for my country
I still don't believe in any modified fw.
Also if seller was "certified" he definitely wouldn't sell to Ukraine from Hungary.
new4or wrote: Tue Nov 07, 2017 6:51 pm couldnt access SM either
You sure remote works? :)

I was more thinking of return cost to supposedly "restore fw"...

Well, it looks you searched forum already and all infos we own are there. If key combinations are disabled in some way, I'm afraid you won't be able to do much by yourself, and have to remain "hostage" :)

Last thing i want to ask, if i flash firmware from the model m5502ua witch is sertified for Ukraine? Any chance it will help or mayby brick tv? Any chance that is exactly what seller does?
As well as i know ther is no hw differences

You can try to download firmwares from .hu or .ua, you'll just notice they're absolutely the same. So you'll be able to flash only if you don't have latest already (no downgrade possible), but updating usually don't change any setting anyway.
The trick is definitely not in firmware, I'd bet on some dumb flag file in user space, causing stupid restrictions...

They can flash modified SoC eeprom with some settings in it. They possible can even modify such eeprom for their needs. You reset fw, you clean eeprom to defaults = bingo, tv does not work in your region

Only assuming, but if juusso was right maybe EEPROM reset could help (note that TV would then ask to setup some SM values you can't reach/save now). Wouldn't help in case of flag file hypothesis though.
