are you sure you not edited the file with windows notepad? pemissions ok on usb pen?

so the drive is mounted now, but the second problem is still alive...
the network drive is formated by ext3 - could this be a problem?
when i connect me by putty to the tv i can see al the files and also delete files but not copy the files ...
i tried also the connection to the nfs server - no succes

I also have an wl500g, and the same thing happens. I've tried it with FAT format, and I can ls the directory, and delete files. But I can't read them or write them. I think it must not be the file system, just that when you mount the wl500g samba share on the TV it does this. When I mount the wl500g samba share on my laptop it works ok. Also, when I mount a samba share from my laptop onto the TV, it works ok too. Just not for shares on wl500g mounted on TV.

I realize this is late, but I just found out there is a solution. There are improved firmwares for the wl500g: http://code.google.com/p/wl500g/
