actually i don`t think tweeting is gonna help...

you will have to raise the media awareness, not everyone is so "geek" like us here and wants to "play" with his hardware.
you should try to get in touch with the standards, for example gizmodo, engadget, lifehacker and any other "big" site
which has something to do with jailbreaking and such things.

BEST thing which could happen would be Samsung suing you for closing down :D

I for my self got here by searching on google for ways to extend or hack my tv`s functions.
actually i think i searched for "firmware hack" or "custom firmware" where i found smartsmurfs thread on another forum with his AR fix
(till erdem founded this one on sf)

i would also suggest, if someone really talented and bored, could build a nice GUI for the Firmware patching process.
This tool could be submitted to some software review sites, and as you don`t distribute Copyrighted Code there should not be any legal issues.

I think you get the point :)

Greetings

beljim7419, You are talking about Samygo Auto - it has been made by BlackByte from ixbt.com forum. I can confirm, it is not malware or something like - it is good tool to automatisation of samygo-tools (not only all extensions). Bad thing - it is not supported for over 6 moth and it seems the author has forgotten his good job. If anyone has interest about i can tell more. It is russian programmer`s project and it has been suddenly stopped.
arris69, you could check binary file - it is C++(i guess..) just for choosing options you want to have samygo apps copied automatically to TV memory and added to autostart by gdb.

it's a .NET stuff, and i wrote for some months that i can't understand why it's required to write a gui app for to put a username and a password into a shell-script.

last version i checked installed and outdated samygo extensions pack.

so it's usable for devices what also supported by old samygo extensions (armv6 based T-CH.7..., but not for T-CH.5... with network enabled kernel and also not for a/c-series).

if it works for somebody it's nice, but i can't support it (source not released).
maybe some like to ask author that he implements some kind of update function.

thnx
arris

Things gonna off-topic.
I don't join the idea if we have a gui application to do things. Software sites throes really low count of people. (I know from my other open source GUIes programs.)
Also I think its better to have an Content Library application that adjust auto starting with inits scripts.
Might be later a program could download new applications to TV's memory from internet directly.
Needed to learn SDL asap :)

Hey guys! I apologize for this question, but does anyone know if there is a similar site like this one for Philips TVs?
