hi,
can you pls check that your samba version honor the include directive in the smb.conf
Code: Select all
[global]
include = /mtd_rwarea/smb.conf.%m
or
Code: Select all
[global]
include = /mtd_rwarea/smb.conf
http://www.samba.org/samba/docs/using_samba/ch06.html
if yes than its easy to create the whole extra file from init-script, is better than reparse and sed in the main smb.conf
and user also can easy change shared directories
my uexx7020 show stuff in media.p from /mtd_wiselink/MUSIC001 and VIDEO...
hth

I have to make more tests to find out if mtd_wiselink is usable for anything. Beside mtd_swu, there is something strange with this directory. With samba, these directories cannot be shared. If you share the / directory, these two directories appear like files (size: 0 Bytes) in the list and not like directories. Inside these directories, there are two special files for which the root user does not have permissions.
I will try if mtd_wiselink is usable as smbroot but it cannot be shared. mtd_tlib is no problem.

I have finally packed two archives: One to be installed on USB and the other to be installed in /mtd_wiselink. But the hell, I cannot upload it here. If I try to upload an attachment, the only result is that the text I wrote vanishes. Two times, I wrote a detailed instruction... I tried it with three different browsers (firefox, safari and konqueror).
I will use yousendit shortly...
http://www.yousendit.com/download/MVNmY ... RTUzZUE9PQ -> USB version (needs to be extracted in the root directory of the memory stick that is mounted as sda1)
http://www.yousendit.com/download/MVNmY ... SlFLSkE9PQ -> untested build with /mtd_wiselink/samba as smbroot
To share the directory /mtd_wiselink, it is required to copy one file to it using the samsung media player on the TV if never used this volume before. The first use makes changes on the file system.
