Conax is just a Content Scrambling System implemented on the DVB Standard (like Nagra, Irdeto, Seca ....... is)
it does not distinguish between DVB-C/T/S at all.
For my B750 (CI+) recording Conax encrypted (non nordic) Cable Channels does work (at least when using SamyGoPVR)
There is a difference if you CAM is implementing CI+ features (like the CAM for Astras HD+ Channels does) or not.
In CI+ a provider can set a flag, such that a STB or TV CANNOT record a stream.....
So can people with "not working" reports please post, which exact CAM they use and what channel they try to record?
Le40B750 and PVR-function
Re: Le40B750 and PVR-function
My config:
LE40B679 with 1009 f-ware
ITI-Neovision CI+ module with paired card (Conax cas7)
Module is used to receive polish "N" platform distributed via DVB-S/S2
It is not possible to record anything when the module is pluged in. Guys, you're talking about the flag which operators set to block recording, but why the hell this flag affects recording of FTA channels as well?
I've bypassed CI module via debug menu and guess what? Bypassing works well, but when try to record something it also blews up.
Another thing is, that if you have CI module not connected, you CAN record FTA and encrypted programs. Of course you can only view FTA recordings, but encrypted ones are also stored on. You can analyze it after with some ts analyzers and see. Both of them are recorded properly.
I bet this behavior is PVR application independent, becouse all of available samy PVR's depends on the same exeDSP function. I've tried to record something with old-style console way and right after typing path to file and pressing enter screen freezed
PS. I have some annoing message from CI module saying something like "Connection between TV and CI module estabilished" right after TV is switched on. Do you noticed the same?

Re: Le40B750 and PVR-function
The solution is there, check main PVR topic at "software" section.sunnyday2 wrote:Today I tried another CAM (brand:SmarDT, encryption:Conax).
Contrary to my old Dilog CAM, SmarDT features CI+
I can confirm the statements of mpolak77 above: When a CI+ CAM is inserted, PVR is no longer possible.
Any attempts to record leads to picture freezing, regardless of channel's resolution.
This has already been the topic in thread "Record TV over USB"

Hope we can make progress together.
