Firmwares are build by Samsung ONLY for upgrade ...always firmware is checked if newer than installed one.
Downgrade not possible yet.
BTW, what firmware you have now installed ?

Hi,

I am a newbie. I come across the site and found it very interesting. I have a BD-C6500 XEF/XEU with the latest firmware (1025.1). I made the mistake of upgrading the player before applying the region free hack. Could you please point me at the blog with the intruction on how to down grade the firmware. I have sen the post before suggesting the hold the exit buuton for 10 sec. It did not work for me. I have search the site but the only post I found are related tothe TV using the hack firmware 000

Thank you for your help

But it might take a week to put that firmware online.
erdem_ua,

Sorry to be off topic, but would it be possible to get the 1012 firmware for HT-D5550? The only one I can see on Samsungs different download pages is 1013 and above.

Many thanks

Paulinho

That's great! Doest it work?

Hmm, in a private message to somebody on this forum I wrote (a few months ago):
"...I decided to flash my BD again. I pressed EXIT button for a couple of seconds, restored 1003 firmware (wow! I didn't know it can be reverted like that!) and flashed it again..."

Today, I did it again and it didn't revert firmware version. So I am not sure it was an accidential case or what. Maybe resetting all settings by EXIT button must be done just after upgrading? I don't know.
But the truth is that it worked for me once. It's a pity I didn't record it. I think it is worth to record all experiments.

EDIT: NO!!! It worked! I did found last screenshots and I had more recent firmware version before (1103->1003). SO IT WORKS, I must say. It would be better that somebody will test and confirm.

I am willing to try if I could get version 1012 for the HT-D5550.

But what is the right sequence?
1.- Turn on player
2.- Put USB stick
3.- Go to Settings -> Update firmware
4.- Hold EXIT for 10s?

When you hold EXIT, doesn't the Upgrade Firmware menu go back?
