try simple copy samsung_pvr to /dtv
cd /dtv
chmod 777 samsung_pvr
./samsung_pvr &

remove from usb /CONTENTS all files (that you can find easy right one).
start recording...

when finish, check .srf file, , you can rename it to .ts or any other filename that player can reorganize as MPEG TS file.

One question.
since there are sometimes a few languages in stream will that be possible to grub all (supported) languages in the particular stream with this samsung_pvr or it would need some changes to be done?
By default samsung TV records the chosen language only.

Hi all,

First of all I want to thanks Denny for share this great advance for all. Now I need to ask for help for anybody that could help me to get something I would like to have, a SMB SERVER on the TV set. I'm a litle lost about diferences among SamyGO Hotel Mode hack, SamyGO extensions, widged, TV Models, etc. I'm a microprocessor and Delphi/Visual Studio programmer, but my knoledgement in Linux is limited, and my english isn't perfect, lol. But I have almost all I need but not all, lol

At the moment I have my Samsung C650 hacked by using the Hotel Mode Hack, but I haven't intalled the SamyGO extensions because I don`t need them at all.

Let me explaing all I did before asking what I need. Perhaps the way I used could give some ideas for someone that precises a simple solution for NAS SAMBA/NFS sharing, FTP, and PVR. All into a single USB HD.

Here is my changes history:

1) At the begining I had one 360 GB USB Small size HD (Samsung) that I was using since a lot o time without problems for PVR funtions. I have it conected at the TV USB port without external power suply, because the TV set is capable to give it enought power. No problems since some months ago.

2) I stoled some PVR HD space in order to create two new little partitions. They have an exact copy of the two partitions created on the USB pendrive prepared following the instrutions given in the Hotel Mode Hack, by using "network_opt_18.02.2011_sda2.img" ziped into "network_opt_18.02.2011_1.zip". I got after this process TELNET and FTP working perfectly.

3) Entering in the Web page of this Hotel Mode hack I was able to set up SAMBA sharing of my 2 TB DLINK NAS DNS-320. By using "!network" file in the root of the Hotel Mode Hack HD FAT partition I was able to access all my NAS library without problems. Much better solution that DLNA NAS Sharing that I had before the Hacking!.

4) After this I copyed, also into the root of Hotel Mode hack HD FAT partition, the file "samsung_pvr", and prepared a SamyGO.sh script file also in this root directory in order to execute that file at booting. Then I had my PVR files SRF's without encription. NICE!

5) By FTP'ing SRF PVR files into my Windows PC I was able to encode them to DIVX/XVID by using "WINAVI All in one conveter" comertial program. ALSO NICE!

Then what I would like to have that I don't...? :-)

I was searching on the SamyGO Wiki and forum without answers.

Is there a simple way of setting up a SAMBA Server on the Samsung TV adding anything into the SamyGO.sh script?. (Remember I haven't SamyGO extensions, I have ALSO Hotel mode Hack). Some cifs binary call could do it?. How?.

If this I am asking were possible we don't need FTP'ing SRF files into the PC to open it. It takes a lot ot time. In my case WinAVi converter can convert SRF files to DIVX without renaming it to TS. It could convert directily from the nerwork to the PC.

Any ideas?.

Sorry for my bad english

Alex

a simple way to setup things are the "Extensions-pack" ;)
next release (better say "Bugfix-Pack") of SamyGO Extensions has samba server included......

but i don't get the point why a ftp server isn't enough for maintain the files on tv.............

It's true that you can "mantain" the files on tv, but for instance, how can you open a PVR file on the Windows Media Classic directly without downloading it to your PC? or what I'm wishing, how can you convert it to DIVX on the fly directly from the Lan?. Ok, I will wait until next release of SamyGO extensions, but I'm sure that I only will need one binary of this extensions for setting up the Samba Server I'm needing. Don't forget that I have a C series TV, and that extensions have more suport for B series TV.

Thanks
