Hey! Today I build the cable. I get the output from the tv. But I can not enable the serial console. If I type in 10041004 and [enter] nothing happend.
The loopback test with the adapter works. Do you know what the problem could be?
Thanks for your help!

@juuso
I've been messing about with my converter since messages sent last week. Was wondering if you could help.
I've made some limited progress - when I type "23331003" the terminal loops back any further the commands via the TV. Nothing else comes up - the TV continues to stream data and whatever I type continues to be received back to the terminal.
Any ideas? Are my codes correct?
Thanks

First: codes differ for each series. B series console enable codes differ from C series, and D/E have also its codes for console. I didn`t understand what are you trying to do by entering all codes you`ve found on the forum.
Loopback test means cable isn`t connected to TV and if test is ok, use it as described on wiki. Take all steps easy, seams you`re confusing youself.
Finally, as i see from your other posts, your TV is D series, then
your codes are:
So after you power on TV, connect terminal and see some log there, you have to type 23331003 (you don`t see what you`re typing) and after ENTER, to get to the TDM you have to input 20089999 + Enter.

For my understanding the description of the pin assignment in the wiki for eXLink cable is incorrect.
Pin 4 at the VGA connector is RX (from the TV's point of view)
Pin 11 at the VGA connector is TX (from the TV's point of view)
Why "from the TV's point of view"? RX is RX of the Adapter and TX is TX of the adaper, when writing "from the TV point of view" thinks the RX goes to TX of the TV and vice-versa.
That was my problem and why the adapter did not work.

wiki is filled up by our members, some typos/mistakes aren`t excluded. You could make some revision of this wiki article too...

juuso thanks for the explanation on the codes. I've finally got it working. The codes i was typing were correct - I think the problem was that I wasn't pressing <enter>. I'm using a terminal program called "Accessport" which requires you to click on a "send" button. I interpreted "send" as the same as pressing <enter> but it is not.
So now I type :
23331003 <enter> then click "send"
20089999 <enter> then click "send" and the TDM appears.
Thanks for your help and advice.

I tried this with my D8000 plasma but unfortunately i seem to receive info from the TV only when TXD and GND are connected to the USB to TTL adapter.
As soon as I connect RXD the info displayed in the terminal halts and its only at this point am i able to type in the terminal. When I type and press enter, i then have to disconnect RXD from the adapter to allow the information from the TV to flow again but it never seems to stop and is continuous.
Any ideas what im doing wrong here?
