After trying Reiner Ullrich's fantastic ru SamsungCommunicator in vain, it now appears that downgrading also fails on my

- UE46D8000

- Software version T-GAP8DEUC=1025.1, BT-G

- Error 603


I really have no need to downgrade (originally I changed the TV fom EU_BENELUX to EU_GERMANY to be able to use the HBBTV option, but I don't like the way Samsung handles these issues, so I want to keep my options open.

This message is in Dutch. The translation is:

Connection failed
Errorcode: 603 Invalid parameter
Newest software is not yet available.

The important thing to notice is:

- When downgrading apparently an (at this moment: unknown) parameter should be used to fool the Samsung TV to think it using the newest software. To me it seems Samsung is able to check whether the software from SammyGo actually is new software (which of course it is not).

Of course I do not have the slightest idea how they would be able to check this, however Samsung certainly does.

Arris, indeed it fixed the issue.

People should have no real problem in downgrading. Of course I ran into several problems, one of which is a strange one and maybe worth to mention.

I am using a range extender. I did not switch it off, but i did change the three DNS's in my router to one: the SammyGO server.
That apparently did not prevent my internet to stay up and working: via a PC I still got on the internet. Strange: may be the repeater "remembers" the origial DNS's as long as it is not switched off ?

Stranger was that before I discovered that, I already tried to download the "downgrade". However that first download was *not* a downgrade: the Samsung downloaded the same 1025.1 firmware I already was using again... (which of course did not help me very much). As I am pretty sure my wireless router is the source of the internet connection for the Samsung, I probably cannot blame the range extender for this.

Anyway: after switching off the wireless extender all went well and I have now downgraded to firmware version 1015 (it really is mentioned as version 1015 in the "contact Samsung" menu, not as version 1090 or something like that. That is very cool ! This version enables country switching via Reiner Ullrich's Sasung Communicator again.
