I can confirm the same problem, it seems like the new firmware does not allow the local_set change even after uring RuSamsumgTvCommunicator (Factory, 3Speed). I'm not sure if there is a different way to do it, otherwise I would think a software downgrade is the only solution, assuming that is still possible. Anybody ?

I tried the IR method and after sending the Factory+3Speed codes the TV starts showing a WHITE,RED,GREEN,BLUE colors without accepting further IR commands from the remote. There is also now way to see anything else other than the colors. I can still listen the channel sound in the background. If I use the joystick on the back of the TV, it will go straight back to the TV channel I was watching. I'm on firmware 1110. Any idea of what I'm doing wrong ?

in the service menu is "factory reset" using what you go back to the factory defaults, including the 1107 fw?

No, factory reset will not downgrade the firmware back, only the setttings will be restored.

Weird, but no at the moment. I believe we miss something, IR method should work, but it won`t.

The IR transmitter is supposed to work but I suspect Samsung changed something in the new firmware 1110. I have been trying the IR method many times, I can send the factory+3speed codes but no luck enabling the Local Set option. The best I can get is the solid white,red,green,blue images cycling... I really hope somebody from this forum can help us out at this point.

1.what about this procedure:
- TV is on and fully started.
Send Info + Factory trough IR diodes.
2.If no extended factory menu, then power off to stand by. Go to service menu and send Info+Factory
3. If still no success - send twice 3Speed

why don't you use the correct code for service menue?
i also have an ue55f6500.
use normal remote, that comes with tv.
turn off tv
press info -> menu -> mute -> power on tv
then under option is a point locat set
mine is eu_ger
