No, i don't believe that. I use external sound too, over HDMI with ARC, and of course i can select Dolby Digital. But if i were to update to 2600.4, it would be PCM only, this is clearly a bug.

On the german forum, people are already planning to return their TVs to the dealer if Samsung doesn't fix this quickly.

Damn, unfortunately I had OTN update not yet disabled.
So my blody UE50H6470 just updated it self to the rubbish 2600.4 with out even effin asking.

So I can also confirm that DD out via optical is broken

Every device that I ever had and have from Samsung has shitty firmware/software  why do I still keep buying their crap...

Answers from the German Samsung support (translated):
Regrettably, it was found that in the update version 2600.4, a bug is present which disables Dolby Digital audio tracks. The TVs currently only function in PCM. The bug has already been reported to our R&D department. We don't know when a new update will be available. We expect that it will be soon.

There are some updates that are "forcibly" installed. This is especially necessary because of the apps in Smart Hub, which otherwise may stop working sooner or later. However there is a drawback when such a forced update also introduces bugs. For this situation, I want to take this opportunity to apologize.

Yepp, kiking my butt already.
Actually had OTN off befor but reactivated it. I did not expect that the TV doesn't even ask or informs before hand.

Hi all!
I'm just registered but i read the forum from quite some time.
I have an ue48H6400 with fw 2130.
Recently I got a soundbase hw-h600 as a gift from a friend.
I have the problem thath no Dolby Digital goes out over digital audio out or over HDMI with ARC, only PCM.
Now samsung released a new firmware 2604.1 someone know if I install that firmware i will get dolby digital over HDMI ARC?
Maybe a Reset of the TV will solve the problem?
Is there some extension from samygo that enable that feature?
I have the last rootable firmware and I don't know what to do. I don't really need to root my TV, but if that is the only way to get dolby digital ove HDMI ARC i will do it!

Thank you in advance!
