samba is working on e series. the question is why it wont work on your tv.

Anyway, I found the minidlna solution on the wiki SamyGO and installed from the links posted in the samygo web. You can check:

Yes, samba is working on E-series. Minidlna is just suggestion, if you do not like to mess hacking your TV to loose some functions and get some others.
And again, this is a great project. I use on my C, D-series TVs for years, but do not use on E.

You are right even if I'm not the only one having some issues with SMB on 8000 serie.
I still think that there is something very stupid that I'm doing in a wrong way.
May be the last update of today (I've seen widget is updated to some extent) will help.
I'm keeping traying and thaks for your patience.

just uploaded new updated widget. It`s already online. Please check ssh and/or telnet trough putty or any other terminal app. Backup netcat shell is available on port 2323 on port 1023.

New widget not working. No FTP access. No telnet.
I updated it via FTP as usual... now I will try to repete the procedure with develop account...

I tried to launch it again from smarthub it says SamyGO Installed! Pres return to exit. But no Virtual USB.

Last update: I cannot anymore install widget... error_development_002... the procedure is the same as before but does not work...
may be I'm too much tired. Try again tomorrow.

Reinstalled the widget from scretch with develop account. It starts but still no SMB.

Itried to connect SSH or telnet :

SSH
Login: root
Password: SamyGO
Server refused to allocate pty

Putty Telnet:
/bin/sh: can't access tty; job control turned off
VDLinux#>
At this point any command is without any feedback.

It is working but still no anwer to commands.

For me there is no change.
ssh is not working, when i start it from telnet i get the error:
mount: unknown filesystem type 'devpts'
this is because devpts.ko is not loaded.
I cannot find it in /mnt/lib/modules/2.6.35.13. That's why it is.
nfs is working, no samba also because cifs.ko is not loaded.
btw. netcat port is on 1023 not 2323

I can shell with http://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:1080/phpsysinfo/shell.php with user/pass. But so bad, my TV still have samygo virt usb "not connected device", i was use script default and script of zoelechat unsuccess, But no with new twonky server on NAS 7.2.1 my TV can play all mkv on NAS with DTS audio.

I will try reflash original firmware and reinstall SamyGo widget to test again with new SamyGo
