If you want, you can use my small application for sending SMS messages to the TV without Java. This is very simple command-line tool.
There are 3 versions in the enclosed archive:
sms - executable for TV (linux)
smsx86 - executable for x86 PC (linux)
sms.exe - executable for x86 PC (MS Windows)
Usage is displayed while you run this application without parameters.
Default host name is "localhost". Messages or names with spaces must be written in quotation marks.
The tool works in LAN. I cannot force it to work with WAN (yet).
Tested on LExxB650 model.

The only problem is that message's date/time is based on internal system clock - actually not very big problem for PC, but significant problem for TV-version because TV has no realtime clock built-in. I use NTP synchronization in my TV, so my app treats system clock time as UTC and shifts the timezone to UTC+2 (CET). No configuration for this feature yet. But you can use x86 versions where this problem doesn't exist.

Thank you guys. Without your Java applications it wouldn't be possible.
And please... don't use this tools for SPAMing

1) Can you/someone recompile this tool for Fritzbox Linux (~Freetz)?
2) Can you please share the source code you used and at some time upload it to SamyGo. (I assume some C code?)
3) And my proposal is to have all 3 functions (SMS, call, reminder) in one executable.

1) & 2) Sorry, I don't know this equipment (Fritzbox). But you have source code now, so maybe you can do something with that.
3) I don't plan to expand my application. The only thing I need is SMS service.

Feel free to edit my source code, build your binaries. Enjoy.

P.S. I'm not from Germany. I live in Poland.

The FritzBox is an all-in-one-router (DSL/LAN/WIFI/DOCSIS/ISDN/ANALOG PHONE) mainly sold in Germany and Austria. The system runs Linux on the MIPSEL-architecture.

Question: To support the Samsung S800 J?t - is it possible to generate a widget that does the call monitor job or is a J2ME-application required?
The only phone that supports that natively seems to be the Samsung Galaxy.
