Anyway, here is the ouput from dmesg:
Code: Select all
root@tv:/mnt # insmod /mnt/lib/modules/g_file_storage.ko file=/dtv/nfs/pvrimage,/dtv/vusb
root@tv:/mnt # dmesg | grep g_file_storage
g_file_storage gadget: File-backed Storage Gadget, version: 20 November 2008
g_file_storage gadget: Number of LUNs=2
g_file_storage gadget-lun0: ro=0, file: /dtv/nfs/pvrimage
g_file_storage gadget-lun1: ro=0, file: /dtv/vusb
g_file_storage mod ld
If there is a working g_file_storage.ko for the ES 6300 please let me know

For me it worked

Just want to let you know that I finally got SamyGO to work again on my UE65F9005 which runs on FW T-FXP9DEUC-2221.0.
I also had problem with not getting the SamyGO app to appear under the Apps/More Apps sections. This is how I solved it:
Insert the USB when on the More Apps screen and dismiss the "New device detected" popup.
Then go to Options => Edit Apps.
Here the SamyGO app showed, so I simply selected it so it appeared under "My Apps" and then returned to the "normal" App Screen where I could start it and successfully get root again!
I hope this can help someone. I also did a full factory reset right before the big & happy success, which also might have helped.. (Smart Hub Reset, then Reset from menu and lastly a Factory Reset from Service Menu)

I still have a probably unique to me problem, though..
After the FW upgrade I did last August the "default" Apps will not reinstall, that is, Apps & More Apps screen is always empty (except for the Browser App which is always there) and if I add the Apps like I did in my last reply two posts ago then they'll only be on the Apps screen until I reboot the TV. After that I have to redo the whole process.
Many of the Menu selections e.g. "Login Samsung Account" and the "Main Menu -> Smart Features -> Apps Settings -> Auto Ticker" are greyed out. I have tried everything (excluding updating FW to T-FXP9DEUC_2223.4) to get it back working but to no avail..
So my question is if it's possible in any "alternative way", now when I have root again, to configure autostart of SamyGO?
Are there any log files I can search to troubleshoot the original problem? Like why the damn TV keeps deleting the Apps from My Apps screen?

This time I got correctly TV's IP address (192.168.1.3) by LAN but still no root access. Tried with 2 flash drives, changing the time and still the same problem...

Maybe you could try to set (back?) Smarthub to your original country (it can happen, rarely, that Smarthub becomes set to obviously "no country" for no apparent reason):
http://wiki.samygo.tv/index.php5/How_To ... _Smart_Hub
If already set, try to change to another one, then back to your own.
(you'll have to re-root your TV afterwards)

Hello zoelechat,
Thanks for the suggestion, I will try this.
However, I have already tried changing country on the smarthub a couple of times. E.g. I tried setting it to USA and changed my DNS in hope that it would start redownload the default Apps after factory reset..
To change to googles DNS was the only response I found on Samsungs US forums on how to solve this.
Yesterday though, I might have made a breakthrough in my troubleshooting. The TV was set to display normal cable channel when suddenly I got a notification on the top of the screen that said something like "Malicious software has been found, some functions have have been disabled".
I didn't have menus set to English, but it said something similar to that.
I'm thinking that this has been the problem from the beginning; when I "upgraded" the FW last time I didn't remove SamyGO prior to installation and there is a big possibility that I put
various files
here and there on the file system while trying to get SamyGO to work the first time.. Is it possible that the TV sees those files and reports them as malicious and then turns of Apps and other functions such as Samsung account as a security measure?
I did notice now when I have access to root again that there are some old files left on the system that wasn't added when I fixed root this time but was added before the FW update and for some reason kept by the system during update. E.g. I noticed my old "/mtd_rwarea/smb_userdata" was still there. Annoying that Samsung doesn't provide a way to fully recover partition..
Are there any way for me to manually find all files that I might have added myself so that I can remove them and see if this solves the problem? Is it safe/smart to just look for files that have been modified after 1970?

Must the Smart Hub Language Set to USA? That it works? Or doesn't matter? Regards
