I think it will be useful for others to state in first post that very old firmware might not work (because I did not see your comment until after some hours of solving it by myself )

The Skype replacement method is working on old firmware (as early as T-MST12DEUC-1102.1 on my F5500)
In my first test, root was auto-loading successfully and I had ftp access. Telnet was not configured in my setup and that is why it didn't work.

It is samyext4.img from the first post that made the tv crash on my old firmware.

Samygo has evolved significantly since I did the skype root around 2013. I see scripts in /mnt/ for OSCAM, PVR, RCremap, etc which I never had before. All of this knowledge was not public/stable/in existence at that time. I believe there as some "new" Samygo features that are not compatible with old firmware. Maybe one of the developers with long history could hint what the cause could be and which firmwares are affected.

Exactly, was already reported long ago with "standard Skype" method. We never knew exact boundaries since for one "too old" fw we had 1000 "too new" ones (moreover there were several updates to samyext4). Reason is likely some changes in kernel/code and solution remains slight fw upgrade until you find "working one" (or to keep your old samyext4.img if you had one suiting your old fw ).

"...for old firmwares, versions boundaries are the same. But method may not to work on very ancient firmwares, therefore better upgrade firmware to latest "Skype" rootable"

Hi,

after 6 month i try tu use samygo on my f series but everythyng is change!!!

i rooted it with skype method my f series with firmware 1119. I see now i cant access to tv anymore,and i read have a new methd.I delete old widget samygo extantion and now? i have to upgrade software and follow the istruction? or not need to upgrade?
Or maybe just follow the new method and press red botton when i plug in usb dongle?
