Guys can someone please help me. Im trying to root my E-6500 bluray player it has the latest firmware not by choice but because thats what I got it with and everytime I attempt to do the root I get the error Some activation files not Processed... I have tried reformatting the drive and resetting the bluray player to factory it just doesn't work... idk if I should try another usb disk but this is the description of the player on amazon http://www.amazon.com/Samsung-BD-E6500- ... B0076R7FWQ I was looking forward to finally getting that cinavia protection disabled. The errors I'm getting are shown in the attached picture =) thanks for your help =)

Unfortunatelly no idea why it didn't work... Which firmware version are you using? Anyway I would suggest disabling updates (OTN Support) in service menu as quickly as possible... Because once we find solution to your problem it might (again) to late ;) If you can open (normal) service menu using standard method (info+menu+mute+power) thank send 3speed+factory. If you can't get to standard menu just send info+factory to get directly to extended service menu...

The firmware version is 1064.4 does that help?? also the instructions provided to disable OTN I don't think I can use them since this is a bluray player am I right I thought that only applied to TVs?

It seems at least INFO+FACTORY keys method (from BD player ON in operating state, not already in service menu) could possibly work to access extended service menu. It had already been confirmed once, so more feedback is needed, if you feel to try it. :)

ok but is there any reason you think this is failing to root?? I thought that this works with the latest version firmwares.. am I doing something wrong I mean I have the two folders it finds the stuff I do notice that when I'm connected to the internet smart hub wants to automatically update to delete the sammygo widget I guess samsung is smart lol and knows about this so they must have that feature built in or something because if I press yes to update the sammygo widget disappears..
