You dont need to install skype. You need to block OTN Support & OTA Support=OFF. Then you can try DOWNGRADE your firmware if is still possible with your current firmware to 0000.0 and then install rootable firmware.

You should also block updates on router!!!!

I have now sucessfully downgraded the firmware on TV ready for rooting. I don't currently have access to IR device to disable OTN given I need FACTORY+3SPEED keys and my mobile does not have IR. Instead I have disabled the four samsung addresses in my router for now. I would like to know how I disable 'watchdog' mentioned in the pre instructions. I cannot seem to find any information on where this is. Is there a short guide somewhere on how to disable it for GFP8DEUC? I'm guessing that I need to use this root method because I do not have the skype app in the smarthub.

Watchdog you also find in Service Menu. You have to search it there.

Do you know if I need the FACTORY+3SPEED entry method to access it (because its in the extended service menu) or can it be found in the normal service menu on my firmware model (GFP8DEUC)? I'm not with the panel right now to check.
