Well you have to check it's prior setting or reinitialization is the solution left I guess. So try that...:)

I still can't root using this method, i have no idea why it does not work for me (E8000 and 2013 Evolution Kit). But looking at the code in SamyGO.zip i discovered that by making a small code edit i should be able to install app's (widgets) using it. And this works, i got the app installed that i wanted! So I can do what i wanted without FTP :)

Now i just need the latest Netflix.zip and i can install it. Can someone help me with this? Other option is to remove Evolution Kit and try to root E8000 to get the app zip.

Thanks to the guys who made the SamyGO.zip!

Can you make a thread and post how you did that so that anyone else with this issue can try your solution?

I have no problem sharing this information if it's OK with the person who made the SamyGO.zip (i have no idea who made it).
And another thing is that editing code, if you don't know what you are doing, is not exactly safe :)

So i can copy files to TV with the SamyGO.zip, does anyone of the developers here have any idea why the root method does not work for me? Any idea what i could try to make it work?

Another thought. FilePlugin.Unzip unzips a zip file to a given place (i used this to install a app, works perfect). Is there a command to zip a folder, so i can backup a app from TV to USB stick? Only problem with that is, i have to know the id (folder name) of the app or zip the entire /mtd_rwcommon/widgets/normal/ folder.

OT: Can someone with a rooted 2013 TV help me out? I need to get two apps... If someone has a little time, please send me a PM.

no idea if theres a fileplugin.zip but simply zipping non-user widgets won't help you as they're encrypted

Why does it not help me? I don't want to modify them. I just want to install them as user widgets. Encrypted widgets won't work if they are installed as user widgets?

afaik you have to modify config.xml and change widget installation type from normal to user. since config.xml is encrypted too i doubt you can simply copy to user area. haven't tried it though

I have installed widgets without modifying anything and they work... but i did get them from Samsung server, not from TV, i'm not sure if that changes anything.

Hi all,
Just wanted to report about successful rooting of my TV UA40F6400 with firmware T-MST12UABC-1101.4,BT-S.
After some research i have been able to gain telnet access to TV.
Currently preparing to compile nfs module.
Thanks!
