PVR USB can be disconnected as far as the root is concered but.... try and eventually re-root.
As far as 04_04_samba.init , this is edited on PC of course and restored in the TV via FTP in /mnt/etc/init.d/ folder. This is not very complex and shall not be extracted from image file.

Two times (when I tried swich off TV) TV was frozen (black screen, black power LED) after that I had to disconnect the TV from the power supply.
Samba works fluently.
