Hello all,

Is this FW0000 is still working on the latest 2020 update?

I never had any issues, so kept updating the SW of the TV (wish i came to this page sooner, to know not to). After the latest 2020 update the TV keeps rebooting (wifi, etc is ok), so decided to try to downgrade. Interestingly, the TV reports to several USB drives, it can't find the update files on the USB. (I used the FW 0000 from the link in the 1st post). Tried to factory reset, but didn't change anything. Would you have any suggestions?

The TV is a UE46ES8000SXXH

Many thanks in advance!

Yes it does work with 2020, check how-to from Samsung:
How do I upgrade my Samsung TV's firmware via a USB memory drive?

Hi, yes, this is what I tried several times... no luck :(
Tried to rename the directory, or put all the files to the root. Different pendrives, FAT16 and FAT32 format... No change...

Can the feature type (SXXH) make a difference, so the TV doesn't recognise the firmware as compatible?

Well I can just confirm it was 100% reported to work on 2020. No need to rename any dir nor to move any files, just extract archive "as is" to root of an USB drive. "Feature type" doesn't matter: T-ECPDEUC is T-ECPDEUC.
So: no idea.

Ok, I found the issue. I tried to do it on OS X. It adds hidden directories and also might change something, during the extract, so all looks fine, but TV somehow don't recognise the content.

But worked like charm on a Windows PC - long live Microsoft :)

Thanks for your reply, Zoe!!!

Glad it finally worked ;)

At least Recycle bin you know what it is, user can disable it and it's not EVERY folder plague like __MAC'O'SHIT shit :P
(and accessorily: it doesn't waste user's time in preventing TV fw downgrade :geek: )
