Well it should NOT be necessary to modify the file. It should simply work... Anyway reboot TV (remember to disable options we talked about) and check if you have any new files on usb

Congratulations your TV IS rooted correctly
Probably some script is rebooting TV and/or you don't have correct kernel modules

Maybe true for (very) latest MST, but for now there's no GFP feedback, so might be wrong.

BTW you should try telnet on port 23
3123 is recovery console ONLY and doesn't support many commands
