Hi everyone,

I have a C650 rooted, using most of the goodies (PVR to my NAS without encryption), mounting my nas as a virtual USB, changed the country to USA using HULU widget.
My current software is 2010/11/24_003005. I have the Skype widget working.
I have purchased a CY-STC1100 camera, that I would like to use for Skype. As expected it is not recognized.
Now as I understand I will have to upgrade my firmware to 3009 or above to be able to use the camera.
The question is - can I do this without losing my PVR to NAS capabilities, and the US country setting if I upgrade to the latest firmware?
And in fact which firmware should I upgrade to?

update to 3011 (IMO this is the latest FW that all works fine) and rehack with hotel mode method.

Hmm.. I upgraded to 3011, and the camera works fine, but I can't rehack with the hotel mode method, because I don't have a linux machine I can use.
(Can't boot from USB, because laptop is protected...).
I tried to root with the widget, didn't work.
Is there any way I can do this without needing a linux box and with a FAT or FAT32 formatted pendrive?
I don't have the doctored channel list file I had to hack originally

I used the method in my signature....was easier and faster for me... anyway, you can use virtual machine for Linux. there is no other to have camera and root working at the same time.

and if your root is working again, i could use your help to get my STC1100 working with my C6500...^^

That will be great. A way easier for most of the users... Let me know If I have to upload the files I used...
