I tested the PVR2 a little bit.

Sometimes, only video is recorded but no audio. When recording 720p channels, there are interruptions like if the DVB signal isn't good enough (mosaic, high-frequency-beeping audio errors).

there's a lot of work to be done on the PVR app (let's return to the "original" name), but I promised some new version..

In fact, no stability or data quality issues were resolved.
However, you can find out and edit CFG file used by PVR app.
You can enable some primitive application logs, set target directory for recordings and specify schedules for recordings. Only as from-till local time period.
I wanted to implement automatic channel switch, but still no success. Also I thought about automatic detection of the program to be recorded by name, but TV returns the current program name as info from EPG.
Recording file name is formated as yymmdd_hhMMss_programname.ts. Program name is very primitively stripped from unicode (as retrieved from TV) to ansi.

Also I have made some tests with buffer size which is used to store recorded data onto the USB/network. It seemed from some first tests, that smaller buffer size could have some minor improving impact on the recorded data, but maybe it was just an coincidence. You can try values like 500000-1000000 instead of 1732608 which seems to be default size.

Btw, I did not used key remapping functions as presented in PVR2.. might be implemented in future if needed.

To be researched/done:
screen info about recording in progress
automatic channel switch for scheduled recordings
schedules management (automatic delete after the recording, enable schedule creation from EPG)
at least some error checks (sometimes happens that recording in fact does not start and then after the stop, TV reboots - maybe it is somehow connected to the slower USB)
timeshifting ability

This tool invented only for recording TV show that's from DVB/C/T sources, not analog or external sources
So it's perfectly normal.
