if you move widgets from normal to user, you have to edit config.xml and add there <type>user<type>. Check forum, this is widely discussed problem here.

Being new to all this, i kindly request you to guide me in doing this by pointing me to right forum, as i tried searching the forums but ended up with the below link, which i don't understand. Hope to hear from you soon.

https://forum.samygo.tv/viewtopic.php?f ... 7&start=30

I also tried opening the config.xml file but opens in alien language and it says in description as SPM file. Kindly advise.

Thanks.

I think you have to decrypt that file first, but i`m sorry, i`m not really familiar with F series widgets. Maybe anyone else will help you.

I am interested in doing this on my new UE55F8000, but I am worried about breaking it. Can someone confirm that it works well. Is it possible to install the widgets using a Mac instead of a PC?

Very many thanks.

Hi all,

I have a 22F5400 TV with firmware 1120. Before reading a post saying that you can't (as for now) have root with this firmware version, I followed rooting procedure using samyGO (see the quotation, Step 2). Now I neither have root, nor working Skype. Can someone please share the original libSkype.so so that I can restore Skype? I tried googling for it, but to no avail.

TIA,
Alex

P.S. For some reason I can't uninstall Skype via store to re-install it, the "Remove" button is just greyed out
bigmh13 wrote:Step 1 Preparing

1. Install Apache web server on your PC: http://httpd.apache.org/
2. Install Filezilla FTP client on your PC: https://filezilla-project.org/
3. Install Skype widget on your TV and start the app once

Step 2 Root

1. Download archive data file: http://yadi.sk/d/zElgQFCY7ulzy
2. Extract the data folder from the archive and place it on a fat32 USB pen. Connect it to TV
3. Download SamyGo widget: http://yadi.sk/d/GxEVmjPu7ukxk
4. Download widgetlist.xml: http://db.tt/Pe5LTTWI (edit file in notepad with your PC?s IP address)
5. Place SamyGo.zip and widgetlist.xml in htdocs folder in Apace folder
6. Log in as develop on TV and sync your apps. Please follow this guide http://alturl.com/qvyve
7. Now you should have SamyGo widget on TV
8. Start SamyGO widget
9. Press Enter If you get both Step 1 & 2 OK, then hack is installed
10. Power off and on TV
11. Now you should have root

Step 3 Multi region widges

1. Change the app store to the country you wish to accumulate additional apps. For instructions on how to do this, follow the steps here http://tiny.cc/ld861w
2. Start Filezilla and log in to TV?s IP address with user: root (no password)
3. Use Filezilla and follow from Step 5 http://tinyurl.com/kb8qdqw in this guide

Thank you for your quick reply!
I forgot to mention that the "Remove" button is greyed out on Skype page in Samsung Apps for some reason, so I can't uninstall it

Try to delete it from option menu located in Smart hub.

Thank you, but it's greyed out there as well, together with few others
