Can I try this method on the F6800?

If all goes well, I could reinstall Skype, since it does not work once made the change?

Try... until you understand, that as soon you reinstall skype - you`ll lose root. But ok, it is up to you, learn all by self.

You are absolutely right ... I have not read that removing Skype lose superuser privileges.

I don`t know answer. IIRC here was no bricks of F series because of rooting procedure.

i have a question too
ifi i'd like to actually use skype on my (at the moment fictional) F-Series TV, could i root it with the given method and then as soon as i have root access apply some kind of run.sh - usb_mount solution to get independent from skype?

Great tkanks to mt2k, shell and FTP works on my tv UA46F6420.

The only thing I need is NSF and samba , could anybody write a guide how to do after root? Know really little about Linux , thanks.
