if the hotelmode image hack works the same way as the manual hotel mode hack then you'll need some kind of usb device as we use the event of mounting usb storage to autorun our first script
AFAIK the widget hack is based on a modified skype app that has autostart feature

Is there a way to not use an usb, it should theoretically be possible if the script that executes SamyGO.sh on the usb is edited?
I can buy an USB ofcourse but it's a bit redundant to have an USB just to load a set of files.

You can don't use usb for storing the samygo extensions but you need it for launching samygo. So you can use empty usb disk:)

telnet is on installed internally but you have to plug ANY usb disk to launch it. Enything beyond this requires SamyGO extensions on USB
