The root works on my 46f8090 running T-FXPDEUC_1119.2. I removed the previous sammy-go and reinstalled skype, skype works now.
I had to apply the patch 2 times before it worked (open telnet/tfp). After the last install the tv froze, I only could power off/on.
At first i didn't get any network, and the hmdi-cec didn't work proper. No sound on the dvb-c tuner, no picture from the dreambox, after some restarts it now works. Will make some more restarts.
Just after starting the tv is terribly slow, zaps don't work. After the sammy-go auto starts, it's working normal.

never do update from dev otn server... there are already some bricks! Do not ever update any FW from Samsung. They bring only limitations!

I know, but it already happened...
After the 1118 to 1119.2 update it offers a 9999, I know that one bricks it ! See my post in the f-series firmware section.

sectroyer wrote:This rooting method requires fat formatted usb disk. Here are the steps to make it work:
  • * Unpack attached SamyGO_data.zip to FAT USB
    * Download SamyGO.zip from: http://download.samygo.tv/F%20Series/Widgets/SamyGO.zip
    * Extract SamyGO.zip and find file samyext4.img
    * Copy file samyext4.img to folder SamyGO_data on FAT USB
    * Unpack SamyGO-F-SM-AutoStart-USB to FAT USB
    * Now you should have FAT USB with two folders: SamyGO-F and SamyGO_data
    * Connect USB to TV
    * Launch SamyGO-F from SmartHub (if it doesn't appear reboot TV). Sometimes it is necessary to connect USB WHILE TV IS OFF!!!
    * The widget will automatically finish installation (No need to push any buttons) and close itself
    * Now SamyGO is started and telnet/ftp/etc. should work
    * To enable AutoStart reboot TV and from Main Menu -> Smart Features -> Apps Settings -> Auto Ticker -> SamyGO_AutoStart
I'm quite embarassed to ask but possibly there is something very obvious I am missing.
The issue is that in SmartHub I do not see SamyGO-F.
I have formatted my USB to FAT and followed the instructions.
In the root of the USB I have only two folders: SamyGO-F and SamyGO_data and nothing else.

Am I missing something ?

I had the same problem, I found this posted by bobiturboto. It worked for me.

Other important step you need to uninstall old samygo widget before the procedure.
My instructions for F8000:

* Reboot the tv and don't plug the usb drive.
* Open Smart Hub > Apps > More Apps and then put the usb drive and exit from the screen for new device found.
* SamyGO -F widget will appears after that.
