gooseye wrote:@mrmrmrmr the only way to know TV's PVR encryption has been disabled is to try to play the .srf on some device other than the TV. Run hack, make a recording, then open TV's samba share on your PC. Navigate to the CONTENTS/ folder & change the file's .srf extension to say .ts, & try to play. I use vlc. Crypted recording -> no picture; after SamyGo patch -> colours
thank you !
it works

what if I want to record on my current USB disk ?
Should I format it ? (with what ?)
Currently it is XFS formatted with some recordings in it.
what about you take remote controler press red button for recording ? , all questions are answered.
Also, if anyone has knowledge, I'd like to learn what does the new firmware (1018 or 1019) provide. I searched on Samsung site but couldn't find a "release note" or "changes" doc.
this you should direct ask samsung, if they dont release any info , noone on this board can tell you exact changments in the software.
Also, what does the watchdog service do
it is a dog that watch main application that is running,
if something in the application goes what dog dont like, dog reboot?s the TV and it will again watch the main application.
now u combine , should some dog watch your TV or not.
well, that was the best explanation of a watchdog service I've heard ever.
I know what a watchdog service does but I don't understand why Samsung had put a watchdog on the TV... anyway, thanks for explanation.
About the release notes of the official firmware update: I think they must be available to public but I couldn't find on Samsung support site. So I thought I could ask here...
